The Mercatus XXL MC167 is an infra red grill for hotels, restaurants and caterers.

The Mercatus XXL MC167 carries the largest cooking grid in the Power Grill range built by Mercatus in Hamburg, Germany - an infrared grill whose ceramic burners radiate heat downwards onto the food at temperatures of up to 800°C (1500°F).

Because the heat comes from above, fat drips clear of the burners instead of flaring, so the grill builds a heavy caramelised crust without the smoke of an open flame. At full temperature it takes a 1 inch steak to medium-rare in about 60 seconds a side, and the same heat suits fish, chicken, prawns and even desserts. The unit is supplied with a cooking grid, grid holder, drip pan and food pan, and its removable parts are dishwasher safe.

Ceramic infrared burners, heat from above, up to 800°C (1500°F). Cooking grid 325 × 285 mm - the largest grid area in the range. Sears a 1 inch steak to medium-rare in around 60 seconds per side. Offered with propane or electric heating and stainless steel body. Supplied with cooking grid, grid holder, drip pan and food pan.
