The HK-Redline EB-450 is a lift-up electric salamander for grilling, browning and finishing plates to order. It is the smaller of the two lift-up models here, with two work sections and two heating elements, and belongs on the pass in a restaurant, hotel or bar kitchen.

The lift-up action is the point of this design: raising or lowering the heat head changes the distance between the elements and the food, which is how you move between fast browning and gentle holding without changing the setting. The thermostat spans 50 to 300 °C, so the same unit will glaze a steak and hold a plate warm.

Two elements totalling 4000 W run on a 230 V 50 Hz single-phase supply. The work surface is stainless steel, the unit measures 450 × 450 × 400 mm, and it weighs 49 kg net, 52 kg gross, so it needs a bench that can take it.
